George Williams College was the site of Gen Con V in 1972. This was the first Gen Con that Gary Gygax did not have a direct hand in running. Instead Lenard Lakofka, then International Federation of Wargaming (IFW) President and the IFW membership ran the entire convention. The very next year Gary would resume his direction of the convention and it would move back to the regular venues in downtown Lake Geneva.
