Horticultural Hall is the site of Gen Con I in 1968. Initially named The Geneva Convention as a play on the famous international laws of war, the war gaming convention would be held here annually through 1977. From its humble beginnings, run by Gary, his family, and friends in 1968 with about 100 people attending, Gen Con would out grow this site and eventually Lake Geneva to become North America's largest table-top gaming convention with current attendance numbers of 85,000+ attendees!
